What Makes It Awesome

SoBo folks (and our friends from the burbs who love town), our favourite hood in town - Kala Ghoda - now homes a new South Asian fine-dine called Plural. High on both - flavours and sustainability - this aesthetically appealing restaurant might become your new favourite/go-to if you're a sucker for healthy food, love trying something new and in general, are a foodie who loves experimenting with fusion dishes. Inspired by the founder Vedant Shah's travel across South Asia, Plural well-curated menu brings to us an array of authentic vegetarian dishes from the regions of Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.

A lot like a zen oasis in the bustling streets of Kala Ghoda, Plural's decor gives you a very calm and soothing vibe. A swanky bar stocked with boozy cocktails and a fine coffee selection area welcomes you in, followed by humongous tropical wallpaper and rustic-themed lamps and accents. And right as you enter, there's a stairway that leads you to a cosy seating area (make sure you make a reservation for this one) which is perfect for your gang or if you're looking for a little private cocoon.

Now, let me dig into their lip-smacking and flavourful delicacies you must try when you're heading here. I started my meal with their Summer Rolls (which are also the founder's top recommendation). Wrapped in rice paper, these rolls are like a blast of flavours and love at first bite. Really! Neatly packed with exotic veggies, edible flowers and served with their in-house homemade Nuoc Champ Dip. As I headed there when there were light showers, I was on cloud 9 as I slurped up their Dumpling Soup. Comfort in a bowl, this soup soothingly mixes mung bean, red apple (yep, you read that correct), parsnip and chestnut dumplings. If you plan a visit, make sure you're trying this.

[Tip: while enjoying your meal you can also sip on their offbeat coffee options, their Viatmese cold coffee is worth a shot if you're a caffeine lover.]

Likewise, you can try their seared brussel sprouts (a nice mix of flavours and sauteed veggies), bao and Vietnamese pizza. The latter is another must-try only for its innovative (and healthy) twist to our fave junk craving - pizza. While their small plates are pretty filling themselves, I'd say leave some space for their large plates. Their roasted cauliflower and Mi Kieu Mach (stirred buckwheat noodles) comes highly recommended. As always, you've gotta end it on a sweet note! They've got four sinful dessert options to satiate your sweet tooth! Vegan folks, listen up! Their peanut fudge cake, a heartwarming piece of heaven, is vegan and gluten-free. But, trust me, you can't even tell! Likewise, you can also give their Vanilla panna cotta, Miso caramel tart and passionfruit petit gateaux a shot too!

All in all, whether you're looking for a fancy place to impress your date, a quality #famjam or simply a great meal experience - I'd highly recommend Plural as it checks all our boxes. Great food? Check. Swanky ambience? Check. Safety measures? Check. I mean aur kya chahiye?

Pro-Tip

The restaurant is operational only from Tuesday to Friday from 11 AM to 4 PM. Make sure you make a reservation before heading there.
