Chow Down

The Aarey Milk Colony is infamous for all its spooky and horror stories. But then, there’s nothing to worry about when the sun is shining bright, right? Located sort of inside the jungle, the Aarey Garden Restaurant is an absolutely wonderful find. To be honest, we didn’t expect it to be so and we will admit to have been a little scared to venture inside, but we were pleasantly surprised to see this beautiful eatery.

Firstly, getting there is a task. With no autos around, Ubers and Olas are your only options and you positively need a ride to get in and out of there. Once there, try their amazing Malwani, Chinese and seafood specialities. We loved their dal khichdi for INR 265 and the desi chicken masala for INR 350 the most. The food is not very cheap, but is fairly priced and there is quite an extensive choice of spread and good portions. There’s no alcohol served inside, but guess what? You can carry your own {no taxes, oh yeah} and they will happily provide you with mixers. And since you have to buy your own alcohol and take it, and the fact that there are no thekas nearby, go into the area well-stocked.

They have AC and open-air seating with ample room to fit in a large group. At times, there’s live ghazal performances happening there and you can even make requests {awesome, right?}. The ambiance is super awesome and beautifully airy, given that it’s nestled among large trees. The servers are quite friendly, so ordering is a sweet and smooth process. However, the washrooms are not that clean, which you don’t tend to notice when you’re nicely drunk, but this is information you need to know nevertheless.

So, We're Saying...

Go here for a super chilled out time with your gang over good food and booze. And don’t worry, nothing will go wrong with you here.

#LBBTip

Cabs sometimes don’t make it there unless they know the way well, so make sure you give them the correct directions.
