What Makes It Awesome

Mumbai, being a city of dreams and beauty has got a lot to offer and one outstanding proof of this is The Elephanta Caves. The Elephanta Caves is a world heritage site which is located on a distant island about 11 Km from Apollo Bunder in Mumbai.

The island is divided into caves of different sizes with preserved rock temples each depicting the various forms of Shiva. The caves and statues have been carved out of stone. There is a total of 16 caves with several entrances.

A visit to the Elephanta Caves is a life-stirring experience for back-packers, photographers, and writers. The environment is tranquil and de-stressing. If you love history and like exploring cultural heritage, this magnificently beautiful place is just the spot for you.

What's My Pro Tip?

Take a cab and use the GPS to get to the place. You can also walk towards the Gateway of India. Enjoy an hour-long ferry ride from the Gateway of India to the Elephanta Caves. Make sure that you watch out for the monkeys scampering around in the caves.

Anything Else?

The place is open for visitors on all days {09:00 am to 05:30 pm} except Monday.
