There’s a large chunk of us who love shopping at brick and mortar stores. While we’ve all embraced the tide and are all regular online shoppers… Honestly? Trying a ‘fit on the old-fashioned way just hits different. When an occasion like New Year’s Eve is around the corner, it becomes a little urgent to go and shop for clothing that’s party-appropriate, flattering, and comfortable enough to bust your moves in.

While you could head to the mall and call it a day, we suggest heading to one of these stores in the city that offer curations that are one of a kind, and from brands that you might not get too easily in India!

P.S: They're all super affordable!

Stheart, Andheri Lokhandwala & Linking Road

Following the rows of stores that have really OTT Indian wear, you’ll see a section of Andheri Lokhandwala that strictly represents those that are shopping for hardcore party clothing. Think cutout dresses, satin dresses and glittery co-ord sets. Stheart is smack in the middle of this section, and pretty much embodies it! We noticed a ton of satin-based ‘fits, which we all know photograph beautifully! You’ll be spoilt for choice with respect to colours, too!

Prices start at INR 1800, but we’re sure you can score a bargain or two.

#Glamour, Andheri Lokhandwala

#Glamour is the store that’s right next to Stheart, but it does have a decidedly different collection. They’ve got a whole lot more full-length gown-style dresses that are more modest, but just as glam. If you’re attending a shindig that’s a little more formal, we think this store’s a great pitstop. This is also great if you don’t necessarily want Instagram-y clothing, but more timeless pieces.

Prices start at INR 2500, and can go up to INR 8000

Primmette, Linking Road

Here’s a #HiddenGem that stocks lovely casual and party clothes from international brands like Bershka and Primark. Since it’s basically an export surplus store, you’ll be able to find a healthy dose of Zara, H&M, and F21 dresses as well, priced quite affordably. You can even score swimwear here, in case you’re planning on heading for a beach vacation to kick off 2023!

Prices start at INR 600.

No Panic, Linking Road

Another export surplus store, this one stocks a ton of co-ord sets in different fabrics. We spotted jacquards, scuba fabric, cottons, and the ever-popular satin, too. This is also one of the more affordable stores on the list, and has more wearable, comfortable options than some others. Score embellished jeans, unisex shirts and blingy tops that are party-appropriate here.

The range starts at a pocket-friendly INR 799.

ReDress, Waterfield Road

Waterfield Road has another cluster of stores, like Andheri Lokhandwala, that has a concentration of party wear stores. ReDress has a lot more of those embellished satin dresses that have structured busts and hems. Think early 2010s-style peplums, but with Gen-Z friendly upgrades. We saw a ton of one-shoulder dresses, Euphoria-style cutout dresses and short yet flowy ones, too.

Prices start at INR 2,800.

What’s Up?, Andheri Lokhandwala & Waterfield Road

This store’s one of our first options to head to when shopping for a birthday, New Year’s Eve, or maybe a wedding reception. It’s got a healthy mix of gown-style dresses and shorter ones, so you’ll be sorted no matter what length you’re looking for. This store sometimes knocks it out of the park with cotton dresses that are perfect for day plans, and would be amazing for a New Year’s Brunch, too!

Prices start at INR 2,500.
