The legendary Zaffran at CST has undergone a makeover and we have the details. It’s now called Ustaadi and comes with a more modern outlook on life.

Chow Down

The iconic Zaffran that used to exist in Sitaram Building on D.N. Road is now Ustaadi {we’re saying this on loop because Zaffran meant a lot to people}. Now, before you think it’s an entirely new property, hold on. The team behind Zaffran has made a conscious decision to do this, and the staff remains the same. What changes though is the menu, decor and your reason to visit it.

The decor now leans a bit more towards a modern setting, leaving behind the signature Zaffran decor. There’s bare walls, wooden panels, chandeliers and patterns that now make Ustaadi.

The menu has a modern bent too. Pizza, all-day breakfast {there’s waffles} and a ‘kulcha bar’ are part of their 22-page menu. With a separate Asian section, you can expect everything from Chinese to Korean on the menu. There’s Korean gochu jang chicken {INR 345}, Cantonese fried rice {INR 395}, pulled raan bao {INR 375}, corn and bean quesadillas {INR 295} and much more. The restaurant will remain open till 4 am, just like Zaffran. Not much of a difference there, see.

So, We're Saying...

Zaffran loyalists may have raised and eyebrow or two but hey, the only thing constant is change. We’ll go here to witness the start of another era.
