A new Turkish joint, Zu’s Doner Kebaps has opened up in Lokhandwala Market in Andheri, making us question whether shawarmas really are the righteous leaders of the roll community.

Pass The Kebaps, Please

Travelling from Bangalore, Zu’s Doner Kebaps come as a mini food revelation to those of us who have spent many an unproud moment gorging on frankies and shawarmas.

A doner kebap is very much like a shawarma – with stuffed veggies, chicken, a special sauce {made from three different sauces} and inside a fluffier, spongier bread. It can be had in a sandwich form or like a roll {the more popular on-the-go option}. These guys have seven veg and seven non-veg types, the most recommended ones being the chicken hummus kebap and the veg cheese doner kebap.

The big reveal however, was the kapsalon, a Dutch dish which has tricked from the streets of Amsterdam to this Mumbai shop. This dish is made of a bed of french fries, has a sauce, lettuce strips, vegetable cutlet and chicken, for the non-vegetarian one – which are all tossed up. This crunchy, slightly sweet potato salad {so to say} will definitely become a go-to snack for us.

So, We're Saying...

Visit Zu’s Doner Kebaps for maximum satisfaction at a hungry hour, or any hour, really.
