What Makes It Awesome

Set in Swapnagandha Valley, amidst thick forest cover, overlooking Vazra Falls and scenic panoramas, you've got to check out this property we're currently obsessing over. Tranquil surroundings, eco-cottages, an infinity pool, regular treks and evenings of cultural shows — unwinding at Wildernest Nature Resort in Goa (Chorla Ghats to be precise) sounds too good to be true. True to its name, Wildernest Nature Resort (or eco-tel, as they call it) might just make you feel like you’re lost in the middle of a forest. But, happily so. Because what’s not to love about an infinity pool to splash in (fed by a nearby waterfall), regional Maharashtrian cuisine as part of big buffets and drop-dead gorgeous views to wake up to?

Located slightly away from each other, their 16 eco-cottages, designed out of acacia wood, come with excellent views of the forest, valley or the nearby waterfalls. get your walking shoes out and put them on because all cottages require climbing up or down a bunch of steep steps to reach them. The rooms are basic, but the big glass windows from all sides ensure that nature is always close. The ceilings are made of wood and the floor of red stone. You might find the floors a bit wet during the early afternoon to evening, but this is because you are living in one of the most biodiverse rainforests in the Western Ghats.

Things To Do

At this resort, the in-house chef crafts delicious ethnic dishes served up in a grand jungle buffet style, a feast you won't forget. And when it comes to drinks, the garden bar, Cloud 9, is the place to be. Imagine yourself sipping on fancy cocktails while surrounded by mystic jungle vibes, with an entertaining barman sharing captivating jungle tales. Sounds wonderful, doesn’t it?

If you're in the mood to unwind, the infinity pool offers the perfect luxurious escape. And for a bit of soul-soothing, the exclusive meditation centre and temple on the property are just the spots to recharge.

But that's not all as this place is packed with activities! You can hop on a bullock cart ride, do some pottery, embark on food trails, or set out on trekking and hiking adventures. Nearby attractions include the Chorla Ghat (1.1 km) and Sada Falls which are 14 km away and can be visited on a day tour.

Birdwatching here is a treat, especially with young naturalists guiding you through nature walks. They've even got specially-designed machans where you can relax and enjoy birdwatching or simply soak in the natural beauty.

If you’re curious to learn more about nature, the activity area features slide shows, CDs, and galleries filled with educational content. And before you leave, don’t forget to check out the souvenir shop, offering a range of local handicrafts and memorabilia like caps and T-shirts to remember your stay.

LBB-Tip

Make sure you take some time out to walk around the area to their ethnic cuisine restaurant, Randhan for delicious, regional fare, or to Cloud 9, their garden bar for a glass of chilled white. The Ayurshala with its rejuvenating therapies based on Ayurvedic principles promises enough R&R. Evenings at Wildernest are filled with folk dance performances and rituals showcased by local artisans. Our advice would be to carry your own first aid kit along with a mosquito repellant. Plus, Wildernest always gets booked out, so you will need to book way in advance.
