Peter Cat
Peter Cat on Park Street is a well-known restaurant in Kolkata, as anyone familiar with the city would tell you. And in the event that you don't, you now do. Reputable for its sizzlers, prawn cocktails, and Chelo Kebab platter, Peter Cat consistently books out every table. The atmosphere, a platter of Chelo Kebab, and a side of prawn cocktail always cement the deal, whether it's a party, a family night, a fun dinner plan, or formal events. It's "very demure, very cutesy.”
LBB-tip: You can also try the pistachio ice cream for dessert.
Price: INR 1400 for two people
Mocambo
Alright, listen up. If you are in Park Street, choosing a restaurant to eat at will be difficult because it is dotted with numerous restaurants, and it can be confusing. However, if you don't want to wait in queue for an excessively long time, you should book a table at Mocambo. They have a delightful baked Alaska that is genuinely just the replica of the word "oomph!"; sizzlers that always steal the show; and devilled crab, which is a personal favourite! We suggest you try their A la Kiev for a burst of butter.
LBB tip: You can also take a bite of the beef steak, mixed meat risotto and mushroom garlic prawns.
Price: INR 950 for two people. The Corner Courtyard
Built in 1904, this vintage boutique and restaurant oozes nostalgia for bygone days and comes with a breakfast of golden waffles, vanilla pancakes, and early morning me'lange. It sounds wonderful and cosy all at once. The Corner Courtyard opens at 8 AM, so roll out of bed and head there to feed your hungry stomach. It's both nutritious and delicious, so everyone wins. Oh, and while you're there, take in the smallest aspects of the complete structure from beginning to end—the brick wall, the furniture, the colours. When the weather is nice, you can sit outside and have a cup of coffee or tea.
LBB tip: They feature a diverse food menu. Don't forget to try the peri peri prawns, calamari, and cheese fondue! You can also reserve a room to stay and enjoy the full experience of what it's like to be a zamindar in old Calcutta in a large bungalow.
Price: INR 950 for two people
Aminia
Aminia, a restaurant that has been around since independence, offers first-rate price and service in addition to delivering superb biryani and all things mughal. The biryani they serve also contains little chunks of meat dispersed between the layers of rice. Each spoonful served with a little of soft-boiled potato is oh so tasty! And just when you believe you don't need anything more, a kesari firni will implore you to try it.
LBB tip: Bhuna chicken and rice pudding is also a must.
Price: INR 850 for two people
Paramount
No doubt, Paramount has the best drinks in Kolkata. This local restaurant, which has been around for almost a century, offers a variety of refreshing drinks. Among the most well-liked beverages is the Daab Sharbat. This translucent elixir, made with crushed ice, coconut water, and lemon, will make you feel rejuvenated in the intense heat. Many famous personalities, including Acharya J.C. Bose, Satyajit Ray, Suchitra Sen, and Sourav Ganguly, loved to visit it. The hall of fame board bears their names.

Aaheli
A little bit of luxe infused with authentic Bengali cuisine? Yes please! Aaheli by Peerless Hotels is well-known for serving authentic Bengali cuisine. And I must say, the ambiance is soothing. The decor and interiors provide a sense of warmth. Regarding the meal, the "Shadpuroner Thali" was just fantastic. You cannot go wrong with the comprehensive lunch of fish, poultry, and mutton, served with the excellent Aaheli mishti doi. The whole experience is fantastic.
LBB tip: Shadpuroner Thali is only available at the Sarat Bose Road and Axis Mall locations.

Biswa Bangla Gate Restaurant
Looking for something Instagram-worthy? How about the view from a hanging restaurant in the City of Joy? Sounds wonderful, doesn't it? An oval-shaped hanging restaurant, perched at a height of 55 metres, this place is a unique addition to the many architectural marvels of the city. Cafe Ekante, located in the Biswa Bangla Gate in Newton, Rajarhat, offers a vista that will leave you feeling peaceful. You can have your lunch while viewing the beautiful scenery. The tea here is delicious, with a little flavour of ilaichi, and it costs only INR 10. The chicken momo is also quite tasty, and the chutney is simply fantastic. It is budget-friendly, student-friendly, and clearly taste and quality are the determining factors.

Nizam’s
Nizam's has been selling outstanding kathi rolls in Kolkata since 1932, combining spicy meats with light, golden-brown parathas. Nizam's crispy paratha, stuffed with wrapped kebabs, onions, and a squeeze of lime, was popular with Britishers who didn't want to smear their fingers. It is said that Nizam's still use the same 185 kilogram tawa from the day it opened to make their mutton rezalas and parathas.
LBB tip: Since it is at New Market, don’t forget to shop and explore the market!

Flurys
There are many things to do in Kolkata, and as someone who adores the city, I find this question really challenging. Because Flurys serves the best English breakfast in Kolkata. It is one of the city's most popular pastry shops, and dining there can give you those nostalgic old Kolkata charm moments. Get a table by the window while the fast-paced world outside passes you by. I've always liked the restaurant because of the variety of cakes and pastries, and if you're searching for a cake for any occasion, this is the place to go.
LBB-tip: Chicken al greque and creamy penne pasta are top-notch.
Price: INR 1000 onwards
Beijing
Kolkata is substantially larger, with a more diverse population. There are neighbourhoods that evoke memories of London and others that recall memories of China. And of course, Tangra-Kolkata’s Chinatown is where Chinese cuisine shines the brightest. Beijing is a must-visit for Chinese culinary enthusiasts. I've never been disappointed with anything I've ordered from there. This establishment's standout features include consistent quality and exceptional flavours. Fish items are a must-try.
LBB tip: Don't forget to visit the Chinese Kali temple, where chop suey and momos are served as prasad.
Price: INR 1200
ØLTERRA
ØLTERRA, or "The Land of Beer" in Greek, is an artistically designed cocktail bar and brewery. Hand-painted Greek mythical paintings representing the God of Thunder, Zeus, can be found on the walls inside, as well as the 100-foot-long island bar where all of the creative concoctions are made. And if you’re someone who loves The Godfather, The Peaky Blinders, and more, then you might just feel that way when you’re with your gang of friends at the speakeasy they have!

Calcutta Bistro
A family eating experience at Calcutta Bistro is everything you need if you want to settle down and spend time with your family. It truly is a hidden gem. It is famous among Jadavpur college students due to its affordability. The cuisine is reasonably priced, served in substantial servings, and there are special discounts! And they always have a special dish for the day; make sure to check that out.
LBB tip: Mutton rara, bhetki-cheese fish sticks, steaks

Kim Ling
Given that Kolkata has Chinatown, the city has some undiscovered culinary jewels. I would suggest Kim Ling based on my personal experience. Their food has the typical China Town Chinese flavours, and they provide good service. It's imperative to have prawn chips on the table!
LBB tip: While you’re there, order the honey lemon chicken on the side too.
Price: INR 1100 onwards
Arsalan
You're in Kolkata and craving Biriyani? Arsalan has got you! This place serves literally the best biryani you've ever seen. You know how you watch videos on YouTube of meat falling off the bone, fragrant rice, and other things? Arsalan, though, is precisely that. No matter the occasion—Durga Puja, a birthday, or just a casual day out to eat—there is always a queue outside Arsalan. You will perform the happiest dances when you eat a dish of Special Arsalan kebab or biryani! Believe me when I say that the aroma that permeates the area is the most alluring thing there is. As you relish each bite, consider adding a dash of "Firni."
LBB tip: Shahi tukra, Arsalan special kebabs, mutton rezela, and tandoori roti are also a must.
Price: INR 900 onwards
Oudh 1590
I am always impressed by Oudh 1590's exceptional culinary talents, especially the curated artwork on the handi of the handi biryani. Now, when it comes to cuisine, you must have the handi gosht biriyani as well as the mutton Galauti kebabs, which are both delicious and aromatic. It's so Awadhi! And if you want something even more filling, the moti biryani is also delicious!
LBB tip: The interiors of the restaurant are very intricately designed, mirroring the Awadh style architecture. There are multiple chains scattered across the city.

Amber
As you are undoubtedly aware, Kolkata is home to numerous restaurants from all eras of history, both before and after independence. There is one such restaurant that has been serving authentic North Indian dishes and enticing foodies of all ages and has been around for the past sixty years or so. Amber at Espalanade is too good to pass up or ignore. Notable politicians, Bollywood stars, and even cricket players have been drawn to this restaurant for dinner because of its unique dishes. As far as we know, our late Prime Ministers Rajeev and Indira Gandhi cherished their daal with naan and chicken bharta. Tutti Frutti ice cream is a great way to conclude on a sweeter note.
LBB tip: Tomato soup with croutons, Mutton Barra Kebab, baked fish, Tandoori Chicken, Mutton Moti Biryani, and the famous Daal Makhani are some of their most popular plates.

Maharani Tea & Tiffin
Maharani Tea & Tiffin serves really tasty and scrumptious Hing Kachori, Sabji, and other delicacies. From office workers, families, and students to early morning joggers, the stall is always pulling in huge crowds. And the food served hot in the dried sal leaf plates and bowls is just so tasty, it will wake you up from your sleep. Oh, and if you are an early riser, you can walk in for the first meal of your day as Maharani is open from 6am onwards!
LBB trip: The ginger and elaichi chai is the perfect start and end to your day.
Price: INR 60 onwards
Bijoli Grill
Bijoli Grill's fish fry and mishti pulao with mutton kosha are great options for satisfying your cravings for delicious snacks and a substantial lunch. A power nap or "bhaat ghum," is on the way after you finish your dish of full pulao and mutton.
LBB tip: You can also try the diamond batter fish fry, chicken kabiraji.
Price: INR 1000
Allen Kitchen
It was Scot Mr. Allen who gave Allen Kitchen its name. But in conversions with the current owners whenever I have been to the eatery, I have learnt that Jiban Krishna Saha created the Special Prawn Cutlet, a beloved dish that is still much sought after by foodies as the greatest in the city. The stuffing is soft, and its a whole chunk of prawns fried in ghee.
LBB tip: Their Fish Cutlet, Fish Roll, Chicken Stack, or Devil will leave you coming back for more.
Price: INR 350
Dacres Lane
A lane with numerous restaurants and probably the best places to eat in Kolkata on both sides. Apanjan, which provides some of the best fish fries and cutlets, and Chitto Babur Dokan, which serves stew and bread so delicious you'll want to eat more, are both located on Dacres Lane. Everyone in this lane has something to eat, whether they are office workers, students, or people on a daily income. You won't know what to eat or not to eat because there are so many options available, including noodles, Indian cuisine, and even momos.
Jimmy's Kitchen and Bar
One of the many gastronomic delicacies that Kolkatans have adopted as their own is Chinese food. These days, Chowmein and Chilli Chicken are just as much a part of Kolkata's culinary history as mishti doi and roshogolla. And when we think of Chinese food, Jimmy's Kitchen & Bar immediately comes to mind with its delicious menu and welcoming atmosphere. The meals are simply fantastic. Fried Chilli Chicken, Fried Spring Chicken, Chilli Crab Claws, Mixed Fried Rice, Roast Pork, Cantonese Noodles (sometimes called Fortune Chow), Sweet Corn Soup, Wontons, and Chilli Prawns are among the restaurant's best-selling dishes. Crispy chicken, Shanghai chicken, Hunan fish, Singaporean rice noodles, and spring rolls are some of the new menu items.

Sher-E-Punjab
A road trip paired with delicious food? That's Sher-e-Punjab. This restaurant is a dhaba-style restaurant and serves some really wonderful food. It is located off the airport road. It will take you a few seconds to finish the meal. People spend hours in their cars and sometimes eat there, so it doesn't matter if you can't find a place to sit. The menu has a range of tandoori delicacies, such as seasoned paneer tikka, flavourful seekh kebabs, and tandoori chicken.
LBB tip: They have a very impressive bar menu if you’re up for it.
