With the Goafest & The Abby Awards taking place every year in Goa, it has always been a favourite destination for peeps from the advertising industry. So we thought, why not ask these creative mavens of the award-winning agencies of 2018 to give us their take on all that they love about Goa.

Ashish Bhasin

Ashish Bhasin, the Chairman & CEO – South Asia for the Dentsu Aegis Network & also the chairman of Goafest is an old Goa hand. Goa has been a favourite destination for him along with his family for years, and exploring the village of Sinquerim with his kids is something he truly enjoys. Other than exploring the extensive marine life in Goa and the pretty villages, he swears by the Chorizo or Rosary Goan Sausages at Souza Lobo restaurant in Calangute.

In all the years that he has been coming to Goa, he swears that the way they are cooked here has never changed and hence, it is still his most favourite place to go and eat them. So now you know where to go for those yummy chorizo sausages.

Pratap Bose

Pratap Bose, Chairman of The Social Street agency, which walked away with the ‘Creative Agency of the Year’ award amongst a slew of others, has been another Goa veteran. But his favourite food is what he catches himself. So his early morning boat ride, about an hour out in to the open sea with his favourite boatman Tony from Dona Paula is something he still loves. Why, you ask? Well to go fishing or angling to be more precise, as this is his favourite activity when in Goa. And the best part, he takes his catch for the day and has the hotel chefs cook it for him. So the next time you are here, head to the beach and find your own Tony the boatman and learn angling. Or you could go fishing with Johns Boat tours  and know that you are eating the freshest catch of the day.

Amit Akali

Amit Akali who is the Founder & Chief Creative Officer of What’s Your Problem & Medulla that walked away with the ‘Branded Content & Specialist Agency’ Award is a true blue foodie. His holiday in Goa begins with thinking of breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything food in between. And Goa for him has always been about exploring the local food joints.

Starting off breakfast at the Café Bodega in the Sunaparanta Gallery, which serves great breakfasts in their lovely garden. Or then lunch at Venite  for that yummy Goan Portuguese style food; or even Kismoor, which according to him serves one of the best Red Snapper Rechaedo amongst the yummy seafood preparations they have (including the Kismoor a lovely local delicacy they serve to everyone who eats there). Bhatti Village  restaurant is another favourite, especially for their Portuguese Serradura dessert or their seafood.
