Artsy, Coffee & Culture, is Kolkata’s first art cafe serving great food and tasteful art, and it’s one of our favourite places to go. Artsy is a little difficult to navigate. It’s in a lane just off AJC Bose Road — the same one that houses Ashok Hall Girls School. Lucky for us, the Artsy people painted a couple of signs to help us navigate the way — keep an eye out for bright yellow Artsy paintings and it’ll lead you straight to the doors of the cafe.
The spacious cafe has a blue-and-yellow tone tone running through it. We’re loving the bean bags, wooden tables, mismatched furniture — everything is so artful and tastefully done. Pick up a book from the shelves — there’s an entire wall dedicated to books and you’ll find tons of classics and fictional books on the shelves. The best part of the cafe is a section with an overhanging plant section and a long table — perfect for meetings when you’re in the mood to run away from the office.
Artsy serves up some yummilicious food and cheap coffee as well. The coffees and teas start at just INR 90. The food menu is limited but very pocket. Sandwiches, tea cakes, small plates, salads and all-day favourites, the food is great to keep you going through the day.
