The tough son of a gun called 2020 has finally ended. Pinch yourself because it's a reality. Despite being such a difficult year, a few brave souls decided to come up with new restaurants and eateries, so we dropped in to check them out. Read below to know which ones, and give them a visit whenever possible!
Kolkata People! Head To These Bars & Restaurants For A Good Time This Year!
Malt
Starting with the biggest one, Malt in New Town is supposedly eastern India's largest pub (it has 26,000 sq ft of space to offer!). This luxury restro pub is divided into six sections, which inlcudes two indoor and four outdoor areas. The biggest attraction here would be the primary outdoor space Garden of Eden. We love the fact that fresh herbs and gondhoraj lemons picked from the garden are used in the dishes and cocktails.
Zobet
Situated on the 4th floor of Fort Knox building in Camac Street, Zobet is a Victorian era-inspired gastropub. It is one of the largest gastropubs in the city with its 10,000-sq ft area. The interiors are inspired by the art deco style. Zobet's global cuisine on offer will only make your gastronomic experience better with delicacies like the Philadelphia cream cheese dumpling, N.Y death by mushroom pizza, veg falafel wrap, broccoli mussalam, lamb kibbeh, chicken shish touk and mutton seekh kebab roll, among other options.
BARishh
Folks living in the 'maybe', 'kinda', non-committal world, this BAR-ishh cafe-cum-bar-cum-restaurant is the coolest party destination of Kolkata. Located on the top floor of South City Mall, the vibrant and quirky decor of the place is basically nature fused with modern art and life in the form of murals, installations and paintings. From clicking pictures on the bright pink chairs and cushioned stools to sipping on their signature 'Ginfusions', it's the perfect place to hang out with your squad.
Royal China
Admirers of oriental cuisine have to bookmark Royal China inside Forum Courtyard. For a regal, luxury dining experience, this place is a must visit. It is divided into two parts – the lounge & bar, and the fine dinging area. The lounge is spread across a huge area of 1,500 sq ft with a seating capacity of 56 people, and it has a private VIP zone too!
Lord Of The Drinks
Expert in gulping down shots? Another entrant in South City Mall, restobar Lord Of The Drinks is the place you should check out. Golden mirrors and piped LED lights hanging from the ceiling give the place a royal look. We Kolkatans might feel special because keeping the city's palate in mind, this Delhi-based chain is serving seafood for the first time, amongst all the other outlets.
