When you get to indulge in great Indian, Oriental and Goan food under one roof that too close to home and also with an option of getting home delivery, it’s a complete win-win situation. The Basil Leaf, which recently opened in the Golden Plateau Hotel right on the Porvorim highway is a great family dining restaurant and also offers home delivery.
I went here with absolutely no expectations and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. The food turned out to be really good and not just one dish, but all of them were really worth it.
Special mention to the team at Basil Leaf for they made no extra effort or curated any special menu for me as a blogger. I was free to choose my dishes and this showed the confidence they had in their food and they wanted me to order whatever I feel like just like a regular guest.
My recommendations would include:
Chilly Fish
Pan Fried Tamarind Fish
Pepper Garlic Prawns
Chicken Pahadi Kebab
Hyderabadi Dum Biryani
P.S. They also have something called as Cafreal Biryani which was chef’s own twist to marry a Mughlai favourite with a Goan staple. This Biryani is not part of the regular menu, but is definitely worth trying, if ordering for home delivery, please make sure you call the restaurant and ask them in particular for Cafreal Biryani.
