Another gem from the house of Blue Poppy - say hello to Boma Asian Bakery, people!
Sonam Dolkar Seth (a makeup artist by profession) and Manisha Sangma started baking as a hobby during lockdown but their love and passion for it led to the launch of Boma Asian Bakery last year. Named after Manisha's daughter, the bakery specialises in Asian desserts.
Find a wide selection of baked goodies like eclairs, choux pastries, tea cakes, cookies, brownies, donuts, Swiss rolls, moon cakes, cupcakes, cheesecakes as well as savoury buns. There wasn't a single item that I didn't like but the Japanese Cheesecake stole the show for me - these chocolate and jaggery flavoured, soft, jiggly and light pieces of happiness are a must-have whenever you order from the bakery.
We also tried the Vanilla Swiss rolls, donuts, Oreo and Coconut moon cakes, Pepper Mushroom Bun, Cream Choux (it's melt-in-your-mouth kinda good!) and Chocolate Cupcake (highly recommended!) and loved every bit of it. I love the fact that the desserts are just the right kind of sweet - not over, not under. Also, try the eclairs (dark chocolate, white chocolate and caramel) and their special Fortune Cookies. The Minced Pork Buns are worth a try too.
The bakery operates out of The Blue Poppy - Thakali, so you can try all of these if you plan to go for a meal to the restaurant or else order in.
