No plans yet for the weekend? Let us help you out – drive down to the Breathing Earth resort for the day. If you’re looking to be one with nature, you’re sure to love the experience this place offers.
Breathing Earth in Belladanga village has a rustic mud cottage vibe with all the comforts of a well-appointed resort (tea/coffee makers, in-room fridge etc). The faux mud cottages are grouped around a lawn and a pool, and have air conditioning to beat the humidity. The rooms have an attached lounge area and an outdoor sitting area. We loved the handcrafted lamps and the wall art.
The rooms are let out on a twin sharing basis and come for INR 5,500 plus tax per room per night. It’s perfect for chilling over a weekend or even for a day. The resort has a lake and a small orchard. The restaurant is ‘multi-cuisine’ – the guys behind the resort also own Tamarind in Deshapriya Park, Kolkata, which is known for its delicious Malabar cuisine. It’s just a 40-minute drive from Kolkata CBD, off Diamond Harbour Road. Get on NH-117 or Diamond Harbour Road and lookout for the Ushthi road turning after Ibiza resorts. Breathing Earth’s on the right.
