Pune Cantonment, also known as Camp, was established in the early eighteenth century for the British Indian Army. Soon, civilians settled in the neighbourhood and transformed it into a thriving community. Concealed within the lush tree-lined streets are legendary cafes, iconic shopping spots, and some of the oldest bars in the city that offer a slice of history.

Where To Eat

Marz-O-Rin

One of the most legendary cafes in town, Marz-O-Rin has been serving delicious snacks and beverages since 1965. Inside a 100-year-old heritage building, the cafe has preserved a part of history with its high wooden ceilings, arched windows, and winding stairways. While the decor stays true to its original form, the menu got updated to cater to the modern palate. We love their chutney sandwiches, plum cakes, and shakes. They've also got vegan options!

Chung Fa

Started in 1971, Chung Fa is a culinary gem that offers some of the best Chinese food in town. The place is small, so you might have to wait to get a table but trust us, it's worth it. Order the Lung Fung Soup, fried chicken, or prawns sizzler, depending on your appetite. We also love the chop sueys and fried rice here. The best part is the proportions are substantial, and the prices are light on your pocket.

We highly recommend their Goan specialty sizzlers loaded with rice, potato chips, and sauteed veggies on the side.

Looking for an Instagrammable spot in the neighbourhood? Head to 11th East Street Cafe. The London-themed cafe has been a mainstay in the city's F&B scene since 2007 because of its transportive set. With colonial decor, a phone booth, and a double-decker bus, it's like taking a trip to London without travelling the distance. On your visit, we suggest you order the Negroni to begin with, follow it up with butter chicken, and end the meal with their famous sizzling brownie.
