What Makes It Awesome

Tease your tastebuds with flavours from Banaras, Chaats & Wraps in Viman Nagar has brought the famous Banarasi chaat to Pune. The space is perfect for groups with different tastes to hangout together, as the menu also offers Punjabi and Mexican dishes. But we'd recommend sticking to the chaat.

Started by a young duo, Rahil and Shashank, Chaats & Wraps is a beautiful eatery opposite Botanical Garden and is ideal for dates, hanging out with friends and even family.

The space is cozy, with a capacity of hosting around 20 people at a time. It offers indoor as well as outdoor seating, which has the quintessential Edison bulbs suspended over the roof. They also have a number of board games and cards that you can pick up to play while you wait for your order.

This cafe-cum-restaurant has three types of cuisines incorporated in their menu - mainly Banarasi, Punjabi and Mexican. The Banarasi menu consists of authentic street food from the holy city. You will find gol gappas, tokri chaat, khasta kachori chaat, aalo tikki chaat and other options. We tried their tamatar chaat, if you like the tart of tomatoes, you are in for a treat. In the dish along with the taste of tomato you also find hints of desi ghee, which by the way is a key ingredient in their chaat dishes.

From the North Indian menu, we tried their chur chur naan, which is must have. You'll get two crispy naans served with a rich and creamy dal makhani. The chur chur naan is stuffed and makes for a heavy meal for one. We also tried their paneer kulcha, which is also served with dal makhani. Each of these are sufficient meals for two. We also tried their Irish Cold Coffee, which was a very thick shake that has a base of condensed milk and ice-cream.

The best part about this place is that they make their own ghee and therefore, the food has a homely taste to it. The cafe also serves a few non-vegetarian dishes. A meal for two over here would cost you approximately INR 500.

What Could Be Better

While we understand that the restaurant is new, we hope they speed up their service a little.

How Much Did It Cost
