What Makes It Awesome

Located bang opposite Momo Plaza in Bhawanipore, Black Brick Café is for sure a crowd puller and a hit among college and high school students.

A fascinating fact: The café is named after the first foundation stone laid for the building of Alexandra Court (where the café is situated), which was black in colour! Well, we were immediately impressed with black entrance gate decorated with wall gardens. Upon entering, you will see a beautiful, huge wall mural to your right, just beside the kitchen. This is the first, relatively smaller part of the café. There is another door which leads to the second, larger part, adorned by beautiful semi-caged lights hanging from the ceiling. The decor also consists of a bookshelf covering the breadth of the inner area, which has a beautiful archway.

We started off by ordering BBC's in-house lemonade which was beautifully presented in a Sangria glass, and a Kit-Kat shake. For appetisers, we would highly recommend the Parmesan potatoes - easily one of the best vegetarian appetisers we have had. There were other delicious options for starters such as the sesame chilli chicken, spinach and cheese wontons, butter garlic prawns, and mushroom & cheese bruschetta.

Italian, American, Continental and Burmese, you can choose from a huge variety for the mains. We hogged on the Bansal Babu veg burger, which had an Indian touch due to the inclusion of bhujia and papri. Besides, we also tried the smoked BBQ thin crust pizza, African Peri Peri Sizzler and Burmese chicken khow suey. But our pick was the veg spaghetti stroganoff, which had the perfect amount of cheese leading to the creaminess of the pasta. Finally, we called it a day with the molten mudpie with mascarpone sauce and sizzling brownie to satiate our sweet tooth.
