Who Needs King's When You Got This Microbrewery's Epic Beers On Tap?

Goa has its very own microbrewery and good times are brewing! At Susegado, the idea is to make time. With three flavours of beers on the tap, its brews have been the rage since they opened (more than a year back now), and are now available at most restaurants across North and South Goa.

If just the fact that Goa has its own local brews isn’t exciting enough, the flavours will surely win you over. Their Indian Pale Ale — Dorado has that satisfyingly bitter finish and is among their flagship beers. Our favourite — the Trigo Mango Wheat — wheat malt that is mellowed with hints of Alphonso mango from across the border! They also have a seasonal brew every 2–3 months, though their last seasonal brew — The Dortmund Lager, caught on really well, and has now become one of their permanent beers.

Currently the three varieties of beer are available on tap at various bars and restaurants starting from The lazy Dog in Mandrem (shut during the monsoons, though), to Tataki, Baba Au Rhum, Joseph’s, Palms & Sands, Sorro, Purple Martini, Sol de Goa, Escobar, Gunpowder, Sakana, Royal Enfield Garage Cafe, Bean Me Up, Black Sheep Bistro Cafe Dona, Comida Caseira, as well as the Holiday Inn, Cidade de Goa and Taj Holiday Village Hotels, right uptill Jaali Boutique Cafe in Canacona, South Goa. More places are constantly being added to the list, so the next time you’re at a restaurant make sure to ask for Susegado brews.

At the brewery, their mantra is quality ingredients. They also entertain their yeast during its three weeks of fermentation with live music twice a week! Aditya Challa, the brewmaster trained in Edinburgh, was at the helm of an award-winning microbrewery in Singapore called Jungle Beer, so you know the hops are in expert hands.

We hear that they are opening a beer garden (located where Habanero previously was), which will be up and serving their brews by August. Naturally, quite a few more brews are in the pipeline.
