My first brush with Afraa Restaurant & Lounge dates back to 2017. The restaurant was pristine white and had a very classy vibe. Cut to 2019, my recent visit exposed me to a very different restaurant. Afraa has gone through a major makeover and it’s better than ever.
With massive attention paid to global cuisine, their spread boasts of various appetizers, salads mains, and desserts. While I decided to pile up my plate, I chose from an array of appetizers like Corn Cheese Kebab with Burnt Mango Chutney, Arancini Balls with Spicy Tomato Dip, Hara Tawa Kebab, Devilled Eggs, Mutton Shawarma Wrap & Crunchy fried Fish Fingers with Tartare sauce. A special shout out to the dips!
There is an amazing range of salads and Mediterranean fare that one can choose from: From hummus and melba toast to lavosh, fried pita chips, Summer Greek Salad, Duet of Melon with Rocket & Feta, Beet Root Cous Cous with Pico de gallo, Garden Green salad, Turkish style Grilled Chicken Salad– they do have an amazing range of healthy food options that one might to explore. Although I am not a health freak, Hummus with pita chips and Turkish style Grilled Chicken Salad were my favorites.
By the time I reached mains, I was pretty full. However the dishes that completely stood out for me were: Farmer’s Minestrone, Spinach Ricotta Crepe, Grilled Fish with Asian Pesto, Lagan ka Murgh and Mutton Biryani. If you’re wondering why I have not mentioned the rest, it’s because I was too full to eat the rest and vegetarian items do not make it to my plate, unfortunately. Although I have to say, they have a ginormous spread to choose from. While you’re at it, do not forget their little dessert bar which boasts of assorted pastries, tarts, baked rabri mihidana, monte carlo & ice cream.
All of this comes at a pocket pinch of INR 899/- plus taxes.
