What Makes It Awesome

Laduree, the iconic French bakery and tea room, has finally opened its first store in the City of Joy and we just can’t keep calm! We got super excited and decided to drop in for a taste of their delicious macaroons.

Well, technically, the Laduree store is actually a cart on the ground floor of Quest Mall in Ballygunge. Turn left after you enter the mall and you’ll find this super cute and bright green cart right in the middle of the floor. Move closer and you’ll see all the macaroons displayed right in front you in a riot of colours. They’re available in an interesting variety of flavours and, needless to say, are super delicious.

A few of our favourite flavours include Marie-Antoinette (of course!), Milk Chocolate Coated Hazelnut, Vanilla, Chocolate, and Salted Caramel. I’m not that big a fan of passion fruit or strawberry or citrusy flavours. But, if that’s your palette, then definitely try the grapefruit, passion fruit, lemon, rose, and pistachio flavours. They’ve got coffee too!

Laduree in Kolkata only sells macaroons. So, don’t go in expecting to find something more. You can buy tea (Marie-Antoinette, Jardin Bleu Royal, Earl Grey, Melange Laduree) and jam (strawberry, raspberry, apricot, orange, and chestnut cream) in different flavours if you want.

Each macaroon is priced at INR 235 and upwards. Prices for a box of macaroons (six is the minimum number you will have to buy if you want a box full of them) start at INR 1,900. The teas start at INR 2,999 while the jams are priced at INR 1,500 and upwards.

Laduree also sells mini candle sets at INR 5,999.
