New Pune Boarding House at Sadashiv Peth is an age-old Puneri favourite. Nutritional and homely, the unlimited thalis served here bring out the best of Maharastrian cuisine. A typical thali consists of masala bhaat, chapatis, varan {authentic Maharastrian-style dal}, bharli vangi {stuffed brinjal}, sukha bhaji, birdyachi usal and koshambir, made of yogurt, tomato, onion, green chillies and coriander. For sweet dish, they serve shrikhand, a traditional dessert made from hung curd.
