All of you must have been complaining about the fact that how South City Mall doesn't have a party place till now. To address your woes, famous Delhi chain Lord Of The Drinks now occupies a large space on the top floor of the mall.
There's limited but beautiful outdoor seating. We liked the car seat-like chairs outside (that's where we chose to sit), and there's also a high-table facing the food court. As you enter the restaurant, you will be blinded by the breathtaking interiors, charecterised by immensely high ceilings. LOTD is also known for having Asia's longest bar at one of their Mumbai outlets. The bar here, though not as extensive, was pretty long and tall, keeping with their standards. Golden mirrors and piped LED lights hanging from the ceiling give the place a royal look.
Guess what? Keeping Kolkata's palate in mind, LOTD is serving seafood for the first time, amongst all the other outlets. Settling for the food and drinks, we kickstarted with the Prawn Sukka, served with Kottu Paratha. The melt-in-the-mouth parathas were perfect accompaniment for the mildly spicy prawns. We were presented with the Paloma followed by that, a tequila-based cocktail along with grape fruit juice, elder flower syrup, lime juice and egg-white. For people who prefer bourbon, you can try Lavender Sour, a Jim Beam-based cocktail with lavender syrup and cordial lime juice.
Don't leave the place without trying their Mustard Crusted Fish Tikka, served on a sizzler plate, to keep the smokiness and the burnt aroma. Vegetarians can go for the Stuffed Tandoori Potato filled with ricotta cheese and nuts. Alternately, try the Dahi Cheese Kebab and Mushroom Galouti. Sticking to our soft corner for fish, we ordered the Patra nu Machi for mains (a Parsi delicacy), wherein the curry is made with their in-house Parsi masala, curry leaves and mint, and served with coconut rice. We have our reasons to hail the lord!
