What Makes It Awesome

Summers and pre-monsoon breaks are perfect for early morning refreshing strolls in a lush green garden, and we couldn't agree more; The Millenium Park in Kolkata offers you just that. Made as a part of the first phase of Kolkata’s Riverside Beautification Project, it is situated along Strand Road beside the Hooghly River. It stretches for 2.5 km and is located opposite to the Railway Club and near the Fairlie Ghat. You can easily see the Howrah Bridge from the park. Famous landmarks include the General Post Office and the Calcutta High Court.

What's best about this park is the fact that it caters to all age groups. It has a dedicated kid's zone with an open play area for kids, as well as fun rides, including a Toy Train, a Pirate Ship, Bumpy Cars, and Break Dance, among many others. The rides for children begin at 2 PM. While the little ones play, adults can take a leisure boat ride on Hooghly, soaking in the serenity of nature and the river Ganges. It's the perfect spot to spend a relaxing evening and chat away with friends.

Getting to Millenium Park is not much of a hassle. City buses run daily on the route to BBD Bagh. These buses will drop you five minutes away from Millenium Park or even next to it. The BBD Bagh local train station is also pretty close to the park and has trains running through it every half an hour. Otherwise, the best way to reach this place via booking a cab or driving yourself to the place. You can easily find parking outside the park.
