Lovers of culture, art and everything historic, we’ve the best news for you! A new museum is being built at Savitribai Phule Pune University campus {SPPU} that will be housing a vast collection of ancient artifacts from the era of Shivaji Maharaj.

Tell Me More

As per reports, the new museum will be constructed in the hall of SPPU’s main building, which recently attained the status of heritage site. The collection will boast of everything from Shivaji’s grand era – ancient coins, documents, costumes, war weapons, statues and more, collected from every department at the university. Interestingly, the entry to this museum is what actually caught our attention.

The architects of this museum plan to make the entry to the new museum through a tunnel that was originally built during the British rule. The tunnel will stretch from the estate to the main building. While the work for this new museum has kicked off, there’s no concrete timeline as to when it might get completed. We hope soon enough!

The management has decided to levy no entry fee to the museum and it will be open to all.

So, We're Saying...

We think this new museum will bring back the lost glory from Shivaji’s time.
