Ten-Second Takeaway

Its been quite a month, and no we’re not talking about work and all the stressful things in life, we’re talking about all the yummy food that Pune’s new eateries have been blessing us with. More places in town means more goodies to gorge on and we’re sure Pune couldn’t be happier. If you don’t know the places we’re referring to, here is a low-down on the new food we have around.

Khiva

Khiva, which opened early last month, has brought to Pune some mouth-watering options in North Indian, Mughlai and Seafood. Having been a total hit in Mumbai, we’re glad they decided to bless us with this outlet at Viman Nagar. Done up with wooden furniture and couches, we love the soft music that plays in the background. The food stole our hearts and we would recommend the Nalli ka Salan, the Tandoori Pomphret, the Murgh Peshawari and the Baked Anjeer Halwa.

Wafflin Around

Love your waffles topped well? Then you’d want to be hitting this place. We loved that you could pair the waffles here with just about anything. Those with a sweet tooth could help themselves with salted caramel, coconut, berries, Nutella and chocolate. If you aren’t looking for sweet options, you could play safe and get the one with cheese or go for a bizarrely interesting topping like paneer makhani. We’d recommend you get the Belgian Double Barrel, the New Mexico or the Wafflin’ Around Freakshakes.

Bawajee's Dining

Bawajee’s has been conceptualised and is owned by two people who love and know their food, Behroze Dastoor and Phiroze Dadachanji. What we adore is that the place is done up with charming wooden tables and chairs and greenery on the walls that will make you feel one with nature!

If you’re here and aren’t really sure on what to order, you could always check with them and they’d be happy to assist you. We’ve heard the Chicken Keema with Rotli, Dhansak, Patra Ni Macchhi, Eda Nu sandwich {egg sandwiches}, Ravo {Parsi sheera} are must tries. If you want to play safe and still want something great, go for chicken cutlets.

The Greedy Man Pizzeria

The Greedy Man Pizzeria, just opened doors in Baner, making it so much easier for all of us living that side of town. With an additional incentive of a dessert bar, things got even better. While do feel that their cheesecakes could see some improvement but the sundae with ice cream and cotton candy more than made up. Apart from that we would ask you to try their Cheddar Cheese Fries, Bacon Pizza, Butter Beer and the Margherita Pizza.

Sorriso

This restaurant previously known as the Bistro, now has a new avatar and is more of a fine dining space. While at night Sorriso is an upscale restaurant, during the day it has a more chill vibe to it. The interiors are very elegant with an open kitchen and a separate section where pizzas are freshly baked. There is an alfresco that allows you to enjoy pleasant weather while also sipping on your favourite beverages. We recommend the Buffalo Tonnato, Spaghetti Aglio Olio 2.0 and the Valhrona Manjari Chocolate.
