If you do a google search for 'most romantic destinations in India', we're sure Goa will appear among the top options on that list. It makes sense too, there are secret beaches, quarries, waterfalls and jungles, saltwater lakes, romantic restaurants, sunset view points... we'll stop now. It also fully makes sense that most couples choose the state as their honeymoon or valentine's destination. If romance is the reason you're in Goa, here are fine romantic spots in Goa that deserve space in your itinerary.

Heart Lake

The Heart Lake gets its name from, you guessed, its shape. Located in Chicolna, very close to the GOI airport and Bogmalo, this one’s an offbeat spot. Once you leave your vehicle at the parking, walk a tiny bit and you will be welcomed by the stunning sea view. Just when you turn around you will find the much-awaited lake.

Divar island

This is a must visit post the monsoons. It is lush green on both sides of the roads you can see some really old houses. This laidback island is fun to ride around. You can also see the bridge where the Konkan railway passes, glimpses of old Goa churches and the Mandovi river. It's a setting of a perfect romantic movie.

Lower Fort Aguada

When you hear fort Aguada, immediately the one on top of the hill overlooking the ocean with a lighthouse, where you must have already been. But if you take a right from the fork, you will see the lower fort Aguada which is really small but a must-visit. The views are breath taking and you can catch the waves crash against the old walls.

Japanese Garden Goa

This garden lies on top of the hill in the city of Vasco. The Japanese garden in Goa is one of those lesser-known honeymoon spots in India and very close to the airport. You can see the never-ending sea and feel the ocean breeze. You will also find steps leading down to the beach.

Fort Tiracol

Fort Tiracol was once under the control of the Portuguese and lies on the Tiracol river. It is yet another place to see the mesmerising Arabian sea and Keri beach. Once you step into the fort, you will be transported back to the 16th century, when the fort was built. This fort apart from available for just visiting is now a heritage hotel.
