Looking for a place to pig out over winter weekends? Bohemian has introduced an unlimited offer that will make you very happy.

Local Flavours With A Twist

The restaurant in Ballygunge Place is one of the most sought-after food destinations in the city thanks to chef Joymalya Banerjee’s innovative use of local ingredients and his approach to food. He was among the first to use Bengal kitchen items like the smoky winter jaggery — nolen gur, the fragrant gondhoraj lemon and the magical mix of five spices — paanch phoron and create a mind boggling array of new dishes. You can have as much as you want — servings will be unlimited.

Beginning this weekend, they are launching an unlimited menu that will make you eat till you sweat. The astounding spread will have eight starters, eight mains and four desserts. They will change the menu every week, but the quantities remain the same.

What's On Offer?

The starters are soul stirring —the chicken and aam kasundi money bags are moist and gloriously flavorful, the mutton liver pate ticks all the right boxes, the pickled garlic grilled fish will hit every sweet spot on your tongue. The list goes on — they have smoked fish puffs with Darjeeling chili, prawn and coriander wraps, the pork steamed in banana leaf {much like a paturi}, chicken wings Bengal barbecue style and homey royal Bengal mutton patties.

You will get two pieces of each to begin with, but if you want more of any, feel free to ask. The people here have been instructed to ply you with food and you will feel like you are a much-loved guest at a biye baari {wedding}.

Move on to the mains after that humongous spread. The fish curry with a hint of radhuni, the crab dish with cucumber and cumin, and the wonderfully creamy prawn with mustard and coriander are standouts. The burra sahib chicken has just the right amount of spices coating the juicy pieces. The spicy pork with kalmi saag, and the keema with cauliflower are revelations {who knew they could pair so well together?}.

The mains are served with a mound of steamed rice, a lovely potato salad, wilted greens and tomato pita.

Next, make some space for the desserts to finish off the meal. This weekend, the menu has orange mousse cake, pineapple crumble, coffee pudding and watermelon and mint salad.

Anything Else?

They have a vegetarian version of the spread as well. The best part is the menu changes every week — expect new things every time you visit. And the price for this smorgasbord won’t bust a hole in your wallet — it’s INR 899, all inclusive. If you are in the mood for a drink, add a beer to your order for just INR 99.
