Pune is obsessed with food. We’re either busy eating it, thinking about eating it, or looking for new places to eat at. Mumbai restaurateurs have finally taken notice, and now we have an influx of Mumbai-based eateries rushing to open their outlets in Pune like never before! Gotta catch ’em all:

The Sassy Spoon + Sassy Teaspoon
Sibling eateries, The Sassy Spoon and Sassy Teaspoon opened their doors in December, last year. Though the former is a full-fledged restaurant-bar, the latter is a more casual cafe-style bakery. Housed in a quaint bungalow off Lane 7, their cosy-chic ambience is perfect for a girls’ lunch or a romantic date with bae. With a vast and diverse range of dishes to choose from, you’ll never get bored eating here. They also have theme nights, live music, and offers on F&B running through the week, so keep an eye on their social media for daily deals.
#LBBTip: The place is usually packed at dinner time {with a waiting list}, so it’s better to book a table beforehand.
Copper Chimney
No stranger to the Pune scene, Copper Chimney recently relocated from Koregaon Park to Phoenix Market City. Started in Worli, Mumbai in 1972, Copper Chimney is a stalwart in its own right. Their fare is the stuff of legend – a celebration of big, bold, flavours carried down from Northern India. Whether you’re a vegetarian or a meat eater, you won’t leave here unsatisfied with the food {we never have}. Don’t miss their juicy kebabs, spicy biryani, rich gravies, buttery breads, and succulent raan – you’ll thank us later.
212 All Day Cafe & Bar
A newer kid on the block {even by Mumbai’s standards}, 212 All Day totes itself as a trendy dining space for couples, families, and friends. Their al-fresco space at Phoenix Market City has recently been renovated, and they now feature live musical performances as well. Their menu promises an eclectic mix of fresh and exciting food; be it breakfast, lunch, dinner, or dessert. A must-try if you want a change from the usual.
#LBBTip: We hear their Sunday Brunch is worth waking up for!
Punjab Grill
The brainchild of culinary giant Jiggs Kalra; Punjab Grill features authentic Punjabi food with some more contemporary interpretations. Just reading their menu is enough to make our mouths water! Their space features both indoor and outdoor seating, with a warm and welcoming vibe. Make sure you go there on an empty stomach, eat a bit of everything, and definitely don’t miss out on dessert.
Khiva
Another newbie in town, Khiva is a Mumbai favourite for Bukhara cuisine. Their 11-page menu highlights the best of royal Mughlai dishes, with restaurant decor to match. Treat yourself to some seriously indulgent food; be it their bara kebab lazeez, dal Khiva, or lychee ki tehree, which we sampled earlier this month.
Indigo Deli
Simply put, you can’t go wrong with the food at Indigo Deli. Having built their empire for over 10 years in Mumbai, they recently entered the Pune market late last year. There’s so much to love, whether you’re here for a quick pick-me-up salad or a decadent dessert. We absolutely love their daily specials because there’s always feature something new to try. Their regular menu is jam-packed with staunch favourites like their classic burgers, sandwiches, and thin-crust pizzas. Do not miss out on their desserts, trust us.
#LBBTip: Try to get your hands on their signature label flavoured mustards and jams which they sell by the bottle – they’ll take your homemade sandwich game to the next level.
