If you want to have South Indian cuisine in north Goa then Southi is worth a place. Nurtured under the safe hands of Banana leaf brand, Southi not only offers awesome south Indian food but also north Indian & Goan cuisine.
It has indoor and outdoor seatings, later being more suitable considering the sea breeze and weather. The ambience is more like south Indian with typical traditional Ottamthullal and elephant paintings. The service was quick and very efficient. There is a bar section serving a wide range of drinks.
We tried,
-Mysore Cheese Masala Dosa: The dosas were perfectly done and the accompanying chutney and sambhar were rich in taste. Masala bhaji was okay but the combination of dosa and chutney went well. Dosa was very filling as portions were good.
-Dal Tadka And Tandoori Roti: Dal tadka was just perfectly cooked and optimum consistency with the typical garlic taste. Tandoori roti was okay but no complaints. Surprised to see such quality north Indian food in a south Indian restaurant.
Overall very good place and surely can not give it miss if you are near Candolim beach.
