We know, we know. Getting out in the Kolkata heat to have some fun is hard. You probably just want to stay inside your house or air-conditioned room all day to save yourself from the hot and humid weather that the city is known for. But, Kolkata does have a few places you can go to with your squad to have some fun and enjoy some respite from the sultry weather.
Summer Activities In Kolkata For Fun In The Sun With Your Squad
Aquatica Water Park
A visit to the city’s favourite water park is exactly what you need to beat the heat this summer season. Enjoy a splash in the water as well as some super fun and exciting themed rides, water slides, thrilling rollercoasters, and more. Rides like the Black Hole, Multilane, Pendulum, and Cyclone will give you an adrenaline rush while the Wave Pool will provide the much-needed relaxation after such adventurous rides. They’ve got a resort too. So, why not plan a weekend getaway with your squad for some summer fun?
Let’s Laser Tag
Located on the 4th floor of Emami Market in Lord Sinha Road, Let’s Laser Tag is probably the city’s only such arena and one of the biggest in the country. It’s basically virtual video games made real. You’ll be divided into two teams, made to wear jackets, and given laser tags. The jackets have sensors that get activated as soon as they are touched by the laser beams. You then design a strategy and shoot your opponents to knock them out of the game. Sounds like fun, right?
Nicco Super Bowl
You can’t really get bored of bowling, can you? It’s easily one of the best games to play with your gang, which is why you should head to Nicco Super Bowl in Salt Lake to enjoy a few rounds. It’s got one of the best bowling alleys in the city and also hosts tournaments from time to time. Besides bowling, you can also enjoy a game of pool, air hockey, and many coin-operated games. Fun way to relive your childhood, eh?
Go Trekking
Nothing really beats the joy of escaping to the hills during the summer season. How about a trek to the mountains with your squad this summer season? There are quite a few trekking routes you can explore but we would recommend three—the Sandakphu to Phalut trek where you get to see some of the world’s highest peaks and rhododendrons in full bloom, a trek to the tiny hamlet of Rangaroon with stunning views of tea gardens and Darjeeling, and the Buxa Fort trek near the India-Bhutan border in Alipurduar.
… Or Boating
Enjoy a nouko ride at Princep Ghat or go boating at Nalban Park with your squad. Well, a nouko ride in the waters of the Hooghly while watching a spectacular sunset can never not be fun. Gorge on some delicious street food and ice cream after. You can also watch the sun go down while rowing or paddling at the lake in Nalban Park. There are several eateries, gardens, and recreational spaces inside the complex. Sounds like a plan, right?
