What Makes It Awesome?

Located on Balewadi High Street In Baner, Gong is an Asian eatery where you can splurge a little and sample Asian dishes you'll rarely find anywhere else in the city. The space has a very contemporary decor, which suits the vibe the restaurant wears. There are yellow-golden bars and lantern-like boxes that dominate the space.

Drink up signature cocktails, the Gong, the blooming tea spritzer, the sake sangria are some of the interesting cocktails. The restaurant infuses alcohol with flavours and experiments quite a bit with their cocktails, so it's obviously fun to sip on them.

But what you must go here for, is the rich menu that's been carefully curated to offer you traditional Asian flavours in a very contemporary style. You can munch on things like grit chips with a yuzu sauce with your drink. Nibble on roast duck teriyaki baos. If you like sushi, there are multiple sushi rolls to choose from. Vegetarians can stick to the basics with a cream cheese avocado roll, and fish eaters can opt for shokunin - a tuna roll that's topped with unagi sauce. We'd recommend elevating your evening with more modern sushi. The restaurant serves sushi donuts and they're a must-try. Carbon sushi is what you must opt for, it's a salmon and avocado donut with some squid ink. And, they have cheung fun, which who doesn't love? The menu continues to remain exciting with dishes like tuna bruschetta, water chestnut and corn lettuce cups, and meal bowls like ramen, nasi goreng, khao suey and more.

To satisfy your sweet tooth, we'd recommend the kaffir lime tart or the rambutan. And, end your meal with some speciality teas too.

A meal for two will cost you INR 1800. But if you want to try the food and aren't willing to splurge, the restaurant hosts six-course pre-fixed lunch and dinners at a set price between Monday to Thursday. It's the best way to sample what the restaurant offers.

Pro-Tip

Try some progressive sushi here and ditch the usuals. You can eat a sushi donut or a sushiritto.
