Victoria Memorial is one of the most iconic buildings of this city and one of the major tourist attraction spot. There is a history behind this and I wish I had a time-turner to go back in time and experience. The memorial was built in the memory of Queen Victoria. Lord Curzon, who was then the Viceroy of India suggested setting up a memorial in the honour of the late Queen. The Victoria Memorial is the most opulent structure.
One of the things that I admire about this place is the lush green lawns with colourful flowers blooming. It has been well maintained. The gardens provide a very relaxing place for those who visit here. This place looks so beautiful at night and is pleasing to the eyes.
The place is open for the public for all days of the week except Monday and entry fee is very minimal. A special light and sound show is held as well. Photography inside the structure is strictly prohibited and one can only take snaps from outside.
Worth a visit and recommend the place. I so love this place.
