Say brownies and Mumbai's popular Theobroma patisserie immediately pops up in our heads. Those who stay in Aundh, Baner and nearby areas, we are glad to announce that you no longer have to go to KP or Viman Nagar for your cravings because a brand new outlet has been opened in on ITI Road, Aundh.
It is easy to spot Theobroma as it is situated on the main road itself. With its classic pastel decor and an assortment of treats, one can visit the place for a quick snack and dessert session. We visited the bakery early in the morning because we didn't want to miss the freshly baked savoury goodies.
We believe in starting on a sweet note, hence our first pick was the chocolate mousse cake. If you like your cakes overtly sweet, you can opt for this. Along with that, we had the veg pasty that cost us just INR 35. Crispy, and delicious, it has a filling of spinach and cheese. The third snack was the jalapeno and cheese danish puff, which was slightly disappointing. For us, the lemon tart was the winner.
You can dig into croissants, quiches, sandwiches, along with yummy desserts such as pastries, tarts, pies and cupcakes. They also serve rainbow pastries. On an average, a pastry costs about INR 120.
Other than that, there are a variety of bread, breadsticks, croutons, cookies which you can buy for your snack time. We bought the baked croutons for soups and salad, and couldn't have enough of them! Once you visit, you cannot stick to just one dessert!
We also grabbed a box of their classic brownies for our friends and family (well, isn't that mandatory?)
