If you have ever been to Japan, you will agree that their desserts are the cutest and fluffiest, especially the Japanese bread. After a long stint in Japan, Rahul and Arundhati Deo wanted to bring the 'Japanese experience' to Pune and that is how Tokyo Bakery was born. Situated in Baner, this bakehouse has quickly escalated to the top of my 'all-time favourite bakeries' chart.
They deliver their specialty — the super fluffy Japanese bread along with other bun-based snacks and savoury goodies. After craving for some delicious snacks, I finally dialed up the bakery and tried several of its baked goods. Monsoons often make us crave fritters, hence I ordered the veg fried curry bun (INR 100), which is essentially a curry-filled fried delicacy that is crunchy on the outside.
This was followed by biting into hot cinnamon buns (INR 90) and a custard bun that is filled with homemade vanilla custard (INR 80). I loved the cinnamon roll more! I also tried the signature melon pan- a soft and sweet bun dessert covered with a cookie crust. It is priced at INR 70 apiece and is one of my favourite delicacy from their bakery. Their menu also comprises walnut clover loaf, salt butter rolls, baguette, Fromage-filled buns, muffins, and bread loaves of different types. You can also try their Napoli and Genovese pizzas.
You can pick up your parcel from their Baner outlet. Don't stay in or around the neighbourhood? Worry not! Give them a call or drop a DM on their Instagram, and they shall Dunzo it to you.
