Shortcut

High among the list of must-visits in Goa, all the more so if you’re a seafood lover, Anand Seafood Restaurant is a foodie’s delight. Located between Anjuna and Vagator on the Aguada-Siolim road, this restaurant serves some of the best fish thalis and local goan fish curries in town.

What Makes It Awesome

The food and simplicity! Anand is a humble, no frills local restaurant that serves authentic Goan home-style fish curries. Here, you can choose from a wide array of local catch and gorge on the best fish fries in town. Their leppo fish and mackerel rechado are pretty killer too. Those that are not fish-eaters also have a choice of local chicken and vegetable curries to pick from. The veg xacuti and chicken cafreal are amongst the bestsellers for non-fish-eaters.

We’d also recommend the prawns rawa fry, the butter garlic squid and the kingfish curry — keep in mind that most dishes are spicy and come in generous helpings. The food is priced reasonably, so you can take your mind off your pocket and enjoy your beer and fish fry while gazing at the paddy fields.

What Could Be Better

The service time — but the delicious food usually makes up for it.

Pro-Tip

The restaurant is mostly packed, especially in peak tourist season, so make sure that you arrive with enough time in hand.
