They say creativity is often spurred at the most serene moments. Located in the Ashwem-Morjim area, Artist Cottages offers eight tastefully done up living-spaces that are intended to inspire the creative soul in you. Bonus: They're a stone's throw away from the beach.
Just about 200 metres from Ashwem Beach, these cottages are set in a quiet seaside village straddling both beach and the Morjim river. This area is also well known for the Olive Ridley Turtle Conservation efforts as well as for some of the most spectacular sunsets.
The cottages are designed by a renowned local artist Pradip Naik, whose easy, eclectic style lends a unique character to each of the cottages. Many of his paintings liven up the walls. The rooms are done up in earthy and muted shades — the four poster beds, distressed wood furniture, wood rafter ceilings complement the airy rooms and the relaxing, easy on the eye kind of decor. Small touches of traditional Goan life pepper the spaces, without standing out. Each room comes with a beautiful sit out area set up with easy rattan chairs — you can choose to draw the blinds if you’d like some privacy, or can choose to gaze into the endless vistas around.
In the mornings, a Continental as well as à la carte breakfast options are available in-house, and each room is also equipped with an electric kettle. There is free wi-fi on the premises and free parking if you’re driving up. The hotel can also arrange for several allied services on request like airport shuttles, bikes or car rentals along with cycles that they help guests rent out. Add to that, the staff here is very friendly and will readily help you with a list of the best sights, tours, and restaurants around.
The per night tariffs start at INR 4k for a room.
