Open all year round, and one of the only places in Goa serving home-style unique Israeli food, other than other popular Mediterranean dishes is Café Artjuna.
Café Artjuna - The Goan Solution To Israeli & Mediterranean Food Cravings!
What Makes It Awesome
Tell Us More
Café Artjuna in Anjuna is the brainchild of Moshe, who has travelled the world, worked in the leather industry, retail space and now has made his mum’s recipes come alive in this café. There is a retail store selling clothes, artefacts, accessories & some furniture that is lovely to browse through while one waits for their food.
They even have yoga, Muay Thai and other activities that take place in their beautiful property. The café is spread across a large shaded garden, decorated quirkily with tables that have sand art inside them, to decorative middle-eastern style colourful lamps. And now they are open for dinner, with exclusive daily specials that offer an even more extensive variety in their repertoire of Middle Eastern cuisine.
Cafe Artjuna is a hub for creativity, showcasing art from artists who have either settled in Goa or passed through, leaving behind pieces of their heart in the form of stunning works. Every weekend, the space comes alive with pop-up exhibitions, where local and visiting artists display intricate, thoughtful creations that celebrate the little moments in life.
This infusion of art enriches the café’s already delightful atmosphere. On Fridays, a DJ spins upbeat tracks, setting the perfect vibe as patrons sip their drinks and groove to the rhythm. Saturdays bring live performances from some of Goa’s finest musicians, filling the air with soulful melodies. As you stroll through Artjuna, take a moment to soak in the beauty of the art around you.
Things to try
Artjuna Café has truly earned its reputation as one of the best Mediterranean restaurants in Goa. Take it from us, we're not even big fans of eggplant, but we cleaned out the Baba Ganoush bowl thanks to its delightful smoky flavor that perfectly elevated the dish. The freshly baked, soft pita bread served with it and the hummus was the ideal complement.
The Tzatziki was another standout - easily one of the best we've had, not just in Goa, but possibly in India. Moshe, the owner, sources essential ingredients directly from home and pairs them with fresh, locally sourced meat and vegetables to guarantee authenticity, and it shines through in every Mediterranean dish he serves. Even the Tahini was smooth and creamy, with a surprising little kick in each bite.
If you're craving Israeli flavors, don't miss the smoked fish, infused with delicious wood-fired flavors, or the Shakshuka, a traditional dish of poached eggs in a rich gravy of fresh herbs, tomatoes, onions, and spices. From the bakery, we indulged in their soft and crispy almond croissants—a must-add to your plate. Unfortunately, we couldn’t try everything, but after this experience, we're already planning a return visit. We’re especially eager to try their Halloumi cheese, Borekas, and Humshuka!
Anything Else?
Yes, lots more, as they offer all day breakfast with multiple options homemade granola, croissants, waffles, pancakes and more. They even serve delicious popular Italian dishes like Lasagna and Ravioli for those that want their staples.
And for a light lunch, they have some delicious and healthy soups, salads and sandwiches, as well as vegan options too. And do definitely try their Malabi, another traditional dessert that is similar to a coconut panacotta and served with rose water syrup. Oh yes, they make their desserts in house too, so even a gluten free cake is on offer here. Plus smoothies, fresh juices, lassi and organic wheat grass shots all ensure that there is something on offer here for everyone.

LBB Tip
Tip #1: If you get overwhelmed with the life that goes on at Artjuna and the crowd seems to be too much, we’ve got a little secret spot for you. Just a 5-minute walk across the road, you’ll find their other branch, Sana. It overlooks the lush green fields, and is a big open space. You’ll spot locals working from there and munching their regulars. Same menu, but different setting!
Tip #2: Artjuna is very pet friendly, so take your pooch and enjoy an early breakfast after your morning walk.
