Built way back in 1929, this 3-bedroom house is a throwback to a quieter time. Over the years, the Pintos have lovingly tended to this ancestral home to ensure it’s equal parts quaint and comfortable. In fact, it won’t be far reaching to say that this charming retreat is straight out of a travel magazine with its walkway to the beach, lazy hammocks, cosy rooms and sea breeze all day long. No wonder, it was spotted and chosen to shoot the film My Brother Nikhil.
Not just for writers or those looking to kick back, this is an equally compelling place for those who like an active holiday. Don’t get us wrong. By active we meant, there are lots of small Goan thali places around and live music at cafes that are a walk away from Balnear. Hit up Viva Goa for an old school vibe and fresh chonak, Tuscany Gardens or Davide’s if you’re craving some Italian or Cohiba for a night of dancing to retro music. Or, the hosts can get you cabs/bikes/cycles on hire and you can go around the vicinity.
While the house itself can take up to 6 guests, they have two little beds in the verandah that are perfect for napping. Breakfasts are complimentary and there's staff to clean up after you. Of course, there's wifi for those who might need to be connected and the bestest terrace chairs for evenings to watch the endless tides.
The per night tariffs for the whole villa are between 7-8k.
