To step out of the city chaos and go on a vacation on an island feels great, and if the purpose of getting out is to be pampered at a spa, then it can’t be better. I am on my way to esKape at Kandima for a spa experience; it is my first spa experience at Kandima.
1. Ambience and interiors of the lobby - As soon as I enter the spa, the gentle fragrance and soothing interiors in shades of white and blue begin to have a calming effect on me. They welcomed me with an iced tea and a wet towel that refreshed my soul. They were offering beauty services as well and the parlour was in the lobby. There were small fragrance bottles kept in the tray as testers for guests to purchase if they wish to. We were asked to fill out a form concerning the type of massage we prefer and whether we wish to go for a low, medium or high pressure massage. The masseuse greeted us warmly and assigned us lockers to keep our belongings. The changing room was partially in an open space which was complementing well with the aesthetics of Kandima. There was also an onsite steam room and plunge pool.
2. Spa room and view from the room- The masseuse guided us to the spa suite which was in a closed space outdoors, with the glass window opposite our spa beds. As I lie down on my bed, with my head towards the window, my eyes felt blessed with an amazing scene of turquoise ocean waves crashing on the shore amid a grove of coconut palms. The overall ambience was extremely delightful.
3. Therapy- Initially the masseuse gave me a welcome foot ritual. They exfoliated with a coconut scrub which made the feet very soft. Then it was time for Aromatherapy. There are many different treatments which esKape at Kandima offers, from exfoliation to healing, they have it all. I have read about the spa at esKape several times, but this was my first experience, so I was very excited. I felt lost in my own world due to the pure aroma the oil contained. The masseuse technique felt professional enough. Most interesting part is that they use fresh ingredients in all their products. Each treatment lasts for a luxuriating hour of delight. It was so soothing that I slept through most of it.
4. Feeling after the therapy- I exit the spa feeling completely rejuvenated and ready to take on the world A spa experience at Kandima Maldives assures guests of a new lease on life. I felt detached and distracted from reality.
5. How the spa focuses on the essence of Maldives - The blissful environment of the Maldives itself invokes an innate spiritual connection, and visitors experience a restorative sensation once they set foot on the beautiful islands.
