There is Italian food, and then there authentic Italian food from the Sardinia region in Italy. And according to Nicholas, one of the owners of Goodfellas in Goa {and who happens to be from Sardinia}, the Sardinians do it better. So on your next Goa trip, here’s why we recommend you pay a visit to our favourite Italian restaurant in the state.
Mamma Mia: Find A Slice Of Italy In Goa At This Gorgeous Restaurant

Tell Me More
In the last few years, South Goa has certainly upped its game when it comes to restaurants and bars, especially during the ‘season’ time. And Goodfellas is the place to go to for some great authentic Italian food. Yes, we know Goa is all about exploring local delicacies, but Goa is also all about a variety of cultures coming together. And finding authentic French food, or Italian delicacies here is no surprise.
Owned by 3 Italians who have made Benaulim their home and have converted the cute house into a restaurant, we love the good vibes at the Goodfellas. They have a cozy bar indoors, in case you plan to get started with some fine wine. Try out their anti pasti while having a drink, or just grab a table in their outdoor garden area. This space is located on the main Benaulim beach road and sadly only opens for dinner. They have live music on some nights, a great wine selection, excellent service and warm ambience that could make you feel like you are in Tuscany or Sardinia.
What Did We Like?
Pretty much everything, but we thought their pizzas were the best. They are all thin crust, and cooked in a wood fired oven with fresh toppings. And the selection is huge so trust us, whatever you choose, the good fellas won’t disappoint. The pizzas are huge, so make sure you go with a full appetite. But if pizzas are not your thing then they also make tasty pastas. Whether it is sundried tomatoes or the pesto in your pasta, everything here is made absolutely fresh and tastes delicious. There are, of course, the staples such as the lasagna, spaghetti bolognese, steaks & stuffed squid that will make you go. ‘Mamma mia’. Even their breads are made in-house and couldn’t be fresher and tastier. It helps that they’re all a good looking bunch {ladies, watch it}.
So, We're Saying...
The next time you want to try some authentic Italian food on your vacation here, you know where to head. We suggest you make a day of it- explore South Goa through the day and call it a night at this cute resto-bar.
#LBBTip
They are closed on Tuesdays and are slightly more expensive than the usual. They also shut down for the monsoon months from June till September.
