You and your significant other have planned a trip to Goa and budget isn’t your concern. All you need is a gorgeous room, a cosy bed and a view you’d love to wake up to. So, we went around looking and found hotel rooms that are a perfect mix of the quintessential Goan charm and modern luxury. Read on...

Taj Exotica

Taj Exotica is, to put it simply, all your dreams rolled in to one. The legendary Taj warmth and hospitality, a private beach, and rooms overlooking the Arabian Sea make it the perfect romantic destination. So take a walk on its private beach or maybe a couples' massage. Cuddle up in the balcony or ask them to arrange a private table for a romantic dinner in one of their 6 restaurants. Of course, if you really want to splurge, then go for the Presidential Villa that guarantees complete privacy with its own garden and a plunge pool.

W Goa

W Goa hotel is perched atop the Vagator cliffs and offers you some stellar sunsets. This hotel with its Live DJs and cabanas is for those couples that want romance but also want to live it up. Poolside parties, amazing brunches at their restaurant, a hike to the Chapora Fort are all on offer here for you. And if you want to relax, then the Clarins Spa has special couples' therapy rooms and some amazing treatments. Go ahead book that sea-facing room and let the party begin.

Ahilya By The Sea

Ahilya By The Sea is a boutique property tucked away far away from the crowded areas of Goa. Located at Dolphin Bay, with the majestic Reis Magos fort as the backdrop, this resort offers uber luxury in its 9 rooms. Two swimming pools, exotic art collected by the owners on their travels across the world, breakfasts on the terrace and an amazing masseuse, are all here to spoil you guys silly. This hotel is definitely for couples that are looking to get some exclusive we-time, away from the world. Instagrammable sunsets and ocean views from the nearby Reis Magos fort make for great memories too!

The Cape Goa

Want to pamper your bae like no one's business? We say, do it at The Cape Goa. It’s perched on Cabo De Rama cliff so you get a lovely bird’s eye views and each room has an outdoor jacuzzi. Truth be told, we were sold on these fronts. They have cottages that go from luxurious to insanely luxurious with modern amenities combined with typical outdoor showers and warm hospitality. So, if you want the TV and the AC but also seaviews-to-die for, ditch the crowded North and head to The Cape instead.

Casa Severina

Casa Severina may not be a 5-star hotel, but it is one of the most serene locations with an old world charm. Even though it's in Calangute, it manages to cocoon couples, by keeping the vibe casual and peaceful. With its (welcome as well as complimentary) bottle of wine to kick off that romantic evening, things only get better here. Massages, pool and a salon, it offers most services that bigger hotels do, but this one is for those who want a more intimate, boutique-hotel-like stay. And the best part, it is located a stone’s throw away from a variety of bars, restaurants and nightclubs.

Cassoi By Ciarans

We’re a little partial to this one because it’s perched on Galgibag beach which happens to be one of South Goa’s most pristine and quiet beaches. Their boat huts are one-of-a-kind but if you’re after more mainstream, comfy rooms, they’ve got proper rooms too. Or, they have luxury tents and bamboo huts, both of which are non AC but stay naturally cool from Oct-Feb. Their two restaurants cater to everyone from leaf-eaters to seafood junkies and hardcore carnivores (with meats from their organic farm). The property’s all eco-friendly and also one of the more affordable but romantic stay options in Goa.

The Postcard Hotel

If understated luxury had another name, it’d be The Postcard hotels. Their properties in Goa are far from the popular spots and promise complete privacy. Add to that their love for local food and outdoor spas and we got a winner. If you really want some unhurried time with your partner, we wholeheartedly recommend one of the three Postcard hotels. While the Moira and Cuelim ones are beautiful, our personal favourite is the one in Velha Goa (Old Goa). It’s spread over two acres on a Champakali estate and all its rooms come with private-sit outs. While here, you can explore the churches of Old Goa, drive past the Mandovi, chill in Panjim and even take cycle tours on islands nearby.
