What Is It?

Maachli is a peaceful and unadulterated farm stay bang in the middle of nowhere in Vengurla, perfect for a quick getaway. It’s situated on a peaceful plantation and is run by the Samant family who started this place.

How Do I Get There?

Towards the North of Goa stands Vengurla in the Sindhurgh district in Maharashtra. You can either go there by road which is at least a nine hour journey, or take a flight to Goa and drive down to Vengurla.

What's So Unique About It?

Maachli is smack in the middle of a plantation that is being taken care of by the Samant family, who’ve made sure to not cut down any trees in the area. In fact, the cottages are eco-friendly, wooden and go well the overall ambience of the nature and greenery surrounding them. The whole concept of getting away at Maachli is to be one with nature. They offer simple yet beautiful village-type huts for their guests surrounded by lush coconut, banana and spice plantation. The cottages all have balconies and offer basic facilities.

They’re so particular about serving their concept to the guests, even the food is well thought out. The food is served on banana leaves, and earthen pots are used to cook and serve. The vegetables are organic and grown on the plantation itself, cooked on the choola {mud-stove} to really bring out the flavour.

To get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and get some quality time by yourself. Since the farmhouse is on a plantation, you will be surrounded by greenery, calmness and even a stream that runs through the farm.

For INR 5,900 for a double occupancy per night that includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and tea {twice a day}, this serene plantation stay is for anyone who’s looking to switch off from their busy lives, amidst nature.
