Every day is like a Mad Hatter’s Party at this new Alice In Wonderland themed restaurant in Goa and we’re definitely kicked about it. Read on for more information.

Tell Us More

Morgan’s Place may be known to those who have visited the original outpost in the hills of Himachal Pradesh, and now, we in Goa get to indulge in some madness too. Taking off from their Alice in Wonderland theme there, this ones carries it a step forward. Located in Sangolda, right on the main Chogm road, this quirky all-day café-cum-bar hits the right spot on every front. Even if you are just passing by, one cannot miss the colourful and illustrated walls of this new café. Walk in and the décor gets even more outrageous, with differently upholstered fabrics on chairs, different kinds of seating, mirrors that we walked into {literally}, cute cutlery and napkin holders that we actually mistook for handbags and would have happily carried home. Walls lined with books and free Wifi are an added bonus, so you happily join this party all day.

What Did We Like?

They have a pretty extensive menu with a mix of everything from healthy juices to Italian delicacies, to even a few German delights. So we started off with a Clean Me juice which was totally refreshing and perfect for the summers. But they have other options such as mocktails, milkshakes and a huge variety of hot beverages. Since they start at 9am every day, you could even go there for a full breakfast. There are English and continental options, but even an Israeli breakfast which comes with the shakshuka, pita bread, hummus, salad, chips, tea or coffee is a great choice for just INR 200 {all inclusive}. We started off with the Morgan’s Salad that came with a lot of greens, bacon, beetroot and blue cheese in and olive oil dressing. Next was our favourite Fish Fingers with tartar sauce, followed by one of the best Gnocchi we have had in Goa, cooked to perfection and served in a rich and creamy white sauce with mushrooms and grated parmesan cheese. And because we saw Schnitzel, we had to order it and were we glad that we did. It came with hummus instead of the usual German potato salad, a warm and soft pita, salad, chips and beautifully browned, crumb-fried breast of chicken that was tender, juicy and oozing wonderful flavours. Mr. Gelato also has a counter here, so we thought why not keep the sweet taste buds happy too. The service is a bit slow here, but then again, who is in a hurry in Goa? They did seem to be short staffed on the day we went, so hopefully that is not a regular occurrence.

Anything Else?

They have ample parking and a lovely outdoor garden seating area too, for when you want to enjoy those cool, breezy evenings. And since it will be open throughout the year {including the monsoon months}, we are definitely looking forward to sitting in their verandah and drinking a hot chocolate.
