What Makes It Awesome?

You really don't know how time passes when you drive through the streets of Goa. One of my favourite villages to explore is Assagao because it's full of tiny homestays, restaurants, and stores. The newest entrant here is Jackfruit Tree.

A small cafe-cum-restaurant run by Savio, this one is hard to miss thanks to hits big green roof. Savio is a one-man army - he's the owner, the cook, the manager, the cleaner. Really. The cafe has just two tables and a few bar stools, with a total capacity of not more than 12. So it's truly amazing to watch Savio manage everything by himself.

We ordered some fresh juices, pork roast and rawa masala fried prawns. The juices were refreshing. The pork was served with some poi and was fairly good {and really affordable}. The prawns were a lot and huge, but tasty.

Honestly, the food and drinks here are really well priced, and I'd recommend the place if you're looking for some easy, quick bites. Three of us had a decent meal for under INR 700.

There are no vegetarian options on the menu, so remember that before you head here.
