What Is It?

With the tourist season ending in March or April, all the popular night markets also shut down, ending one of the most popular places to hang out on a weekend. But now Goa is having an indoor night market that will take place across the monsoon months and we couldn’t be more excited. Kicking off on June 30, it will carry on every last Saturday of the month until September 29, late in to the night until some 2.00 am from 7.00 pm onwards .

Who Is It For?

If you, like us you are super bored on Saturday nights with the usual visits to bars or restaurants. Or when you really miss your retail therapy sessions that do not come from a visit to the mall, then maybe a visit to this night market is just what the doctor ordered. For these cloudy months, we couldn’t think of a better salve to our boredom and shopping compulsions. Plus there are live World Cup football matches being screened as well as activities for kids, which means you can make it a family affair. Daddy (or mommy) can watch the games, drink some beers or cocktails, while the kids are occupied and do some shopping in between breaks. Or if you have been wanting to take the plunge and showcase your food, products or even bartending skills, you could even book a stall and test the waters.

What's Unique About It?

Okay, it is being held in the 1930- Vasco Mall (in Vasco of course), but don’t be alarmed, they have a whole host of stalls from food to clothes to accessories, at this 1stIndoor Monsoon Night Market. All stalls selling stuff from a variety of food, drinks, clothes, handmade products, accessories and lots more, all made by locals. They will have a live screening of all the World Cup matches, creative painting competitions for kids using no paintbrushes. Additionally, there are games and contests for adults as well as kids, a flash mob and even the launch of a Music video by the popular Goan Metal Band ‘Within Ceres’(so all you Metal fans also have a reason to visit). And how can a night market experience be complete without a DJ spinning tunes, and local bands playing live music, amongst whom is an acoustic Pop & Country music performance by Ashweta Mamledar who is studying music in Berklee, that we are definitely looking forward too.

So We're Saying...

So come Saturdays this monsoon, head out to this Night Market as it has something for everyone. Exactly why we love our Saturday night markets during the winter months, and why we recommend you head here with your bae or the whole caboodle. So check here to book a stall or know more details.
