This Cool Hotel In Goa Is Made Entirely Out Of Shipping Containers

The Beachbox Hotel in Baga is doing its bit to save the planet, with all the red shipping containers used in making every aspect of this hotel. Not to mention everything else that is also made from used stuff and basically upcycled.

Go down the busy Baga river stretch to the end and you come to this cozy hotel that is a slice of heaven. Overlooking the river, and just a few minutes walk from the beach and the popular hotspots of Baga, also makes it a perfect location to party the holidays away. And not just shipping containers, but most of the things that they have used are either recycled or up cycled as they say, even the cute red aluminum tubs that have been used as wash basins. The first thing that we noticed was the bright red wine coloured waters of the swimming pool, which did seem scary at first. And then we thought Christmas came early and got us some mulled wine, but sadly it isn’t real wine. Thanks to the pool also being made out of a red recycled container, it is not the conventional blue waters you see and we must admit it is a pretty cool concept. The Box Café which is open 24 hours or The Box Bar, are again all made out of old containers, with deck tables having in-built beer coolers which we thought was a super idea.

Old sewing machine tables used as washbasin tables, or even the cute animal motifs painted across the walls make this a very quirky but fun property. The reception had this old ambassador taxi trunk, which definitely made us sit in it and take pictures. So lots of creativity used in designing this place without compromising on any of the comforts. So all the rooms are pretty decent sized as well as with comfortable fluffy beds, air-conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, free Wi-Fi, 24 hours room service and all other modern amenities. And they even have larger suites, with rates starting from INR 3,999 per night for a room. So go ahead and book that box for your next trip to Goa.
