What Makes It Awesome

A heritage Portuguese villa, located on the banks of the Chapora River, in the fishing village of Morjim, Villa Morjim is a beautiful property. Strikingly beautiful laterite masonry work, wooden rafters coupled with Manglorian roof tiles, gives the place a timeless, elegant appeal like no other. The property itself, 7000 sq. ft. of pure elegance, can be booked as a whole — it comes with five bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, a library lounge, drawing room, dining room, and a large country-style kitchen. The whole space can be booked for INR 35,000 a night, including services of a chef, security guard, and staff for housekeeping and cleaning.

From Feb to November however, you can also book the rooms individually — each of the rooms are designed keeping the grandeur of the place in mind, while most of the bathrooms are equipped with a tub for you to wash your fatigue away. The room rentals range between INR 13,500 a night to INR 6,000, but are definitely worth the money. Their two most expensive rooms — Sala Del Sol (INR 13,500 a night) and Suite Panorámica (at INR 11k) deserve a special mention. Sala Del Sol is a gorgeous 800 sq. ft. room that boasts of handmade flooring, and a private mosaic terrace overlooking the garden and the Chapora River. Suite Panorámica, located on the second floor, has a panoramic view of the river and garden views.

The best part about the villa is its surrounding — the Morjim beach, located just about 350 metres away is an ecologically sensitive zone, often known to incubate Ridley turtles. The pristine environment around is truly inspiring — you can spend the day in the lawn just marveling at the curious array of birds that you’ll be able to spot. The Chapora river nearby often sees many migratory birds resting on its banks.

We say, spend a few days at Villa Morjim, and you will be perfectly rejuvenated, ready to take on the madness of the city again.
