What We Like
Ucassaim is another tucked away village just off the NH17 near Mapusa.
And yet, when you enter it one feels like they are miles away from civilization. Winding roads lined with fields and the occasional villager sitting on the balcao of their old beautiful homes, watching you ride by is what you will see on your drive here. The last bit is a steep uphill so make sure you have a good vehicle. Once there, a few steps climb and you are at The Whispering Café, which is open throughout the year.
With a sweeping balcao or balcony around the house filled with tables, this definitely is the place to go to for whispering sweet nothings to your bae or to just wind down from the weekend of partying that invariably is what happens when in Goa. Fresh juices, smoothies, hot pancakes, or French toast, or maybe just the eggs to order in whatever style you prefer with bacon, sausages make for a hearty breakfast or brunch.
Anything Else?
Joey their resident dog will definitely come by for a belly rub and act all adorable in the hopes that you may share your food. Too bad for Joey, we licked our plate off.
They even have pizzas on some days and their banana cake with salted caramel sauce is to die for.
They have added a few mains now too like Chicken in Red Wine sauce, Shrimp Pasta or a Lamb Curry if you are really hungry.
#LBBTip
They have a small store inside with designer threads for those that have a shopping problem and even have some rooms if you want to spend a night or two there.
