66/2B - The Guest House

This one is located on the very buzzy Purna Das road area with its wide tree-lined streets. It is not as atmospheric {or old} as the others, but it’s quite charming.  Its 16 air-conditioned rooms have cable, free WiFi, housekeeping services, and dry cleaning. They have a cafe on the ground floor – Wise Owl – which is very popular. They seem to have a fixation o owls – a glass showcase has all manner of owl figurines. Perhaps because owls are strewn around in Bengali literature, and are considered to be very wise creatures. It has a nice outside seating area looking on to a relatively quiet road. They also have a rooftop steak house with some pretty good meaty dishes. The rooms start at INR 3,040 per night.
