Dhakai Handi, as the name suggests, is an exclusive delivery joint serving home-made delicacies of Bangladesh such as decadent pulaos, delicious fish preparations, Dhakai-style roasts, bhunna (dry fry) specialties, and special desserts like Faridpur er Rosho Malai. Go for a plate of Borishali Chingri Malai - coconut based gravy along with plain basmati rice - for a food coma, or opt for their Chottogram Sheel-e-Bata Murgi (Chittagong style pounded chicken).Stereotyping Bengali food to be always on the sweeter side? Started in 2018, the venture is located at Sinthee More and has an all-female kitchen crew, starting with the owner Tanima Saha and Bangladesh-born Mrs Mamata Das (chef-in-charge).
They are also have practical thalis and take event catering orders (for small to medium size crowd). One can directly call them for orders or find them on Swiggy or Zomato. The starting price of a non-veg preparation can be around INR 100-150 while desserts starts at INR 47 and Dhakai Dum Pulao is INR 105.
